Choosing decals
People collect stickers for free publicity on their own laptops, water bottles and toolboxes, which is an arrangement most advertisers can only dream about. Custom stickers and decals work for product packaging, breweries, skate shops, event swag and contractors who want a mark on every job they finish. They're also among the easiest things to tuck into a shipment or hand out by the fistful.
Think about the surface before the design. A sticker bound for a laptop lives a gentle life, while one on a truck door or a hard hat faces weather, washing and abrasion, so read the listing with that in mind. Windows raise their own question: does it need to read from outside the glass or from inside the room? Get this wrong and it's backwards.
Shape is the fun part. A sticker cut to the outline of your logo looks more like a collectible than a square with a logo in it. Keep text large, because stickers are small and fine print turns to mush at arm's length. A vector file gives you the cleanest edges, and your proof will show you how it all sits before anything is printed.
