Choosing bracelets

A wristband is one of the cheapest ways to get a whole crowd wearing the same message. Schools, charities, awareness campaigns, festivals and youth sports all order custom wristbands by the bagful, either to sell at a fundraising table or to pass around for free. They slip easily into a mailing envelope, and they keep showing up on arms well after the event has ended.

Think of your message as a headline. There's only room for a few words on a narrow band, and the curve of the wrist hides some of it, so one short phrase and maybe a website is the limit. Save the mission statement for another format. Contrast matters too: a clear colour pairing is easier to read at a glance from across a gym.

Check the size before you order for a group, because a band that fits an adult may slide right off a kid in grade three. Decide what it's really for as well: event access, a cause, a giveaway or a bit of jewellery with a logo on it, because a bracelet meant for a keepsake should feel nicer than a throwaway band for a one-night show.
