Choosing table liners

A bare folding table says you found out about the event yesterday. Custom tablecloths fix that for less than almost any other trade show upgrade, and they hide the boxes, coats and half-eaten sandwiches you've got stashed underneath. They're the sensible first purchase for career fairs, farmers' markets, school open houses, chamber of commerce mixers and anyone setting up a booth on a modest budget.

Measure the table first. Six-foot and eight-foot tables are both common, and the wrong size looks sloppy, so check what the venue is providing before you order. Fit comes next: a full throw drapes to the floor and hides everything, a fitted cover looks crisp and tailored, and a runner lets the table show while putting your logo front and centre.

Now for the artwork. The middle of the front panel is the only part that matters when someone's walking past, so make your logo big and put it there. Remember that people standing or sitting behind the table will block the top of it, and shoppers' knees will not be reading your fine print. Folding and storage is a real issue as well, so plan how it'll travel.
