Choosing trade show booths
Everyone on the show floor is competing for about three seconds of attention, and your booth is what does the competing. Custom trade show booths come into play once a business has outgrown its folding table and wants a proper presence at industry conferences, home shows and career fairs. It's a bigger investment than most of the things in this catalogue, so a bit of planning goes a long way.
Start with the venue's rules and your assigned space. Standard booth sizes vary, height limits differ between halls, and some shows are picky about what can face a neighbour. Get those numbers from the organizer before you browse. Then think about who's setting up, since a display that takes two people and an hour is a different purchase from something one rep can handle on their own.
For the graphics, design for the aisle. Your name and one plain statement of what you do should be readable from well back, and anything below waist height will be hidden by people anyway. Full-size artwork exposes low-resolution files without mercy, so send your best vector version and go through your proof with a critical eye. Then have somebody who doesn't work there read it too.
