Choosing trophies
Grown adults will fight very hard for a small object with a plate on it. Custom trophies are for hockey leagues, golf tournaments, bowling nights, sales contests and the office chili cook-off that got out of hand. Whatever the contest, the trophy gives people something to point at in the lunchroom for the next twelve months, which is half of the fun.
Start by deciding whether it's a keeper or a travelling cup. A keeper gets a winner's name and goes home for good. A perpetual trophy needs space for a new name each season, so look for a design with room to grow. If the winner won't be known until the final whistle, plan how the name will get added once the result is in.
Height is a matter of proportion, so a modest team league doesn't need something the size of a toddler, though it can be very funny. Look at the imprint area for your engraving, and keep your wording short. Heavier pieces may affect your shipping, which gets quoted along with your proof. Before you lock in an event date, check the production time on the product page.
